This year I've been trying to do as much travelling as poosible without breaking the bank, so here are some of my top tips for a budget weekend away:
Be flexible with where you go - Some cities are generally cheaper to travel to in comparison to others. For example, Madrid vs Barcelona.
Look at prices for different dates - Compare the prices of flying on different days as well as the price of flights for different weekends. For example, sometimes going away Friday - Sunday is cheaper than going away Saturday - Monday for the same weekend.
Only take hand luggage - It's amazing how much you can fit in cabin-sized suitcases!
Spend time researching a hotel - How far away is the hotel from the city centre? Don't always go for the cheapest place if you're going to pay more for public transport when you get there.

Always use inprivate browsing for looking at flights - it will bump up the price if you start looking lots on a normal browser! x
