On the Sunday afternoon of our weekend in Berlin, my sister & I headed slightly further out of central Berlin to see more of the Berlin Wall. The East Side Gallery is a long section of the Wall still standing that consists of paintings done by artists from all over the world.
Many of the paintings are simply incredible, but unfortunately parts of the wall are starting to crumble away. Also as you can see in my photos, visitors and tourists have put graffiti over the paintings throughout the years! I think it's a real shame, and the paintings should have been left alone! It'll be interesting to see what the wall looks like in another five years time...
We had some lunch in a nearby restaurant, and then took a leisurely walk alongside the wall, snapping photos as we went. The walk then took us back into the centre where we carried on exploring the city.
