Madrid: Temple Of Debod & A Walking Tour

On our second day of being in Madrid, we took a walk to the Temple of Debod. Originally this ancient temple was built in Egypt before being relocated to Spain. It's one of the main tourist attractions in the city, and as it's completely free to see and look around I'd definitely recommend it a visit if you're in the area.

It's very small though so I'd only dedicate half an hour if you plan to visit.

In the afternoon we'd pre-arranged to go on a free walking tour through the west of the city. We met our guide in Plaza Mayor along with around twenty others where we began the tour.

Our tour guide was so entertaining. Although I'm not someone that's fussed about history, I found his stories and facts about the city interesting and engaging.

At the end of the tour, most people gave him a tip as he did such a great job. It was the first time I'd ever joined in a walking tour before, and I would definitely consider going on another one during my next trip.

Have you ever been on a free walking tour of a city before?
