On the final morning of our trip, we walked to the other side of the city to Parque del Retiro, one of the biggest parks in Madrid. The weather wasn't the greatest, in fact after we got there it started to rain! We ended up hiding under a tree playing 'I Spy' until it stopped.
It was like we weren't allowed to escape from the British weather...
After visiting the park we went and found some lunch - beer, a sandwich and crisps for €1.50. It was so cheap I ended up having two!
With every new city I visit I always try to find a spot up high where I can get a great view. So for our final few hours in Madrid we found a rooftop bar, had some drinks and ice cream & played cards. Turns out I'm pretty darn good at playing Cheat!
It was the perfect way to end our little weekend trip.
